The newspaper L'Ardennais for September 17, 1954, reported that a police officer from Marmande who carried out night surveillance throughout the city suddenly had his attention drawn to an unexpected display: he saw a flying saucer coming from the south-west heading in a straight line to the east. The craft, of round shape, relatively imposing, had a glowing shell and a luminous part of a fairly pronounced jade green.

He saw a flying saucer coming from the south-west heading in a straight line to the east.
