On 15 April 1954, two residents of Saint Mexant, Correze Department, observed an elongated, cone-shaped object with two red and green lights at the base, flying at a high altitude from the northwest toward the southwest.

Jimmy Guieu indicates that 24 hours after May 15, 1954, at 16:30, two residents of Saint-Mexant in the Corrèze saw a lengthened craft in the shape of a cone an of apparent length of 60 centimeters at arm's length, of a light gray metallic color, which moved at high altitude "in the direction North-West, South-West". At its base one distinguished "two lights red and green".

The authors say that the CIA collected many sightings through normal intelligence channels, something which they had supposedly fought to block with the Robertson Panel inquiry, and it included this one:

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Corrèze in St Mexant on April 15, 1954 at 16:30 hours, "Two witnesses see a lengthened craft in the form of a cone of an apparent size of 60 centimetres, of light gray, metal color. It moved at high altitude Western direction. At its base one could distinguish two red and green lights. (Gieu [sic, Guieu] gives the date of May 17, 1954)".
