The alleged sighting at Cussac, France, August 29, 1967.

Questions of measures: point 4.

In my experiences of discussions relating to the case of Cussac in 1967, it occurred several times that when I discussed a particular point, it was argued that I should discuss some other point(s). I want to specify that what follows is neither a demonstration that the object allegedly seen was or was not an helicopter or an alien spaceship or whatever else, and that the following is not an act allegiance to any work or writings of anybody, neither a study of the exactitude of the distances between some stone wall and some UFO, neither an investigation into the case, nor a statement on the value or solidity of the case.

The item discussed here is in no manner a declaration infallibility of mine, they are not claimed to be "scientific", I never introduced myself as "a scientist" nor an "expert" about anything, I am not the puppet of anybody. I do not claim objectivity, I only claim I try to be. I will make note of any remark, correction, addition, comment, under the sine qua non condition that it contains no insults, nothing discourteous, nothing irrelevant, and no questioning of my intents.

Point 4 - Comments on a site view seen on the French Internet:

The site view I comment is at:

This page, not dated, provides as of April 24 2008, a satellite sight from the Google Earth software (earth.google.com - 44°58'52.23" North and 2°55'20.39" East), reproduced here:

The localization of the places of the alleged observation is inaccurate. The correct places are those on the right, than I marked by a yellow circle, below:

The true site is clearly indicated in the GEPAN report and is also the one visited by "skeptic" author Eric Maillot in 2004, and confirmed by the totality of the plans and photographs by all the investigators relating to the case.

Sources for this:

Moreover, the distance between the nearest witness and the alleged object as represented on the image of the RR0 website appears represented as about 114 meters, whereas it was measured as 82 meters (witness to alleged sphere center) by the GEPAN investigators:

The error of localization also leads to terribly increase the distance between the place of the observation and the houses of the village of Cussac on the right. This distance was given as approximately 500 meters in the GEPAN investigation report; which I see is indeed approximately 500 meters, and it is the subject of allegations tending to a claim that the distance was greater in order to support disputes relating to the hearing of a noise by an indirect witness.

This error of localization on the RR0 website results in a change of the some 500 meters to more than 1000 meters, the double:
