Subject: Sighting report Hi Patrick came across your sensible site does the subject justice. however a little report for you. five years ago I was fishing with my son on Porthmeor beach which is on the north side of st Ives in cornwall. google earth can show details. the time 10 pm November, clear night . just off the beach I noticed two red lights out at sea strobing and separated by approx two hundred yards. we get a lot of heli operations down here with Coldrose airstation at Helston and the US base up the coast so when I said to my son UFO's he had a laugh. The lights didnt move and appeared to hover I would guess 1/2 mile from the beach, no other nav lights were observed. Because of the cold we gave up and as we climbed up from the beach. two military jets possibly Jaguars were seen approaching low from the west. at that moment the lights just took off one out to sea and the straight up the other eastward across the bay before climbing vertically up through the cloud base. there was no indication of acceleration just instant speed.with the jets left standing. From the moment the objects moved to the time that the eastward one was lost from sight was no more than 10 seconds over a distance of 5 miles. needless to say my son now believes in something. whatever we saw existed and someone vectored the jets onto them. This area seems to get a lot of anomolies and in the sixties we used to wake at night because of the "Hum" all the best |
