Sir,

It has been many years since I sought to testify to facts of which I was a witness, your website seems to me particularly serious so please agree to read my testimony.

It was with the autumn of 1981, perhaps in October. Little before the fallen of night, my girlfriend and I went outside to walk her dog in the park of the Philippe Marcombes stadium in Clermont ferrand. We stopped below the cycle-racing track, we were sitting (she sat on my knees) and the dog played beside us. It was almost night when my eyes saw a form circling around above the cycle-racing track. I remember perfectly that I thought at this time of "athletes throwing discs", which was stupid besides because the disc was slightly with the top of the benches. This first observation was very short (2 or 3 seconds). Quickly, the disc (which moved) grew bigger and I could observe during a few seconds what one commonly calls a flying saucer. The object had a rather matt metalic appearance, rotated while moving, carried out a slight turn (while banking) before taking again a horizontal position to continue its travel. A light shone on the summit part of machine, in fact when it was not visible anymore, I managed to follow it for still some twenty second still thanks to that. The craft was still rotating because the light was intermitente. The time when I saw perfectly the saucer was very short (4 or 5 seconds) but I am certain of what I saw, without any doubt (nothing blurry, no possibility of confusion with a plane or an helicopter for example). Moreover at the time when it veered the air vibrated. My girlfriend, she saw almost nothing considering, except for the light and she thought that it was a plane. The craft came from the west (the Puy de Dôme) and went towards the east. It did not make any noise (except the air that vibrated) and flew low.

At the time I did not make any testimony for I was afraid to be called a liar, I only immediately phoned, from a phonebooth (the nearest) to my grandmother in order to tell her what I had just seen. She then told me that maybe I had made a confusion with the moon which was "very red this evening" which she had just seen by collecting her linen outside behind the house. Seized with a doubt, she went outside to look again at this red moon, whereas I remained on the phone. On her return the moon was not there any more. My grandmother lives in Orcines, a village which is with ten kms in the west of Clermont.

To date, this event remains the most important of my life and I assure you that I was obviously not under the influence of any drink or drugs. I imagined to have been the victim of an allucination. A visit to a doctor a few times later (I do not know for which reason anymore) dissuaded me from this option.

In the hope that my testimony is useful to you, I remain available.
