The serious of your website encourages me to report to you the original observation which my mate reported in the night from the April 08 to 09, 2002.

Of return from her night shift in a factory of the surroundings, going to our residence located at Fumay, by the road D989 coming from Monthermé, she engaged on the left, at the location called "Gillet Cross" towards Haybes on a narrow road in full forest. Little after this intersection, her attention was attracted to her left by a gleam. It was approximately 03:25 and she drove at approximately 60 km/h maximum, given the darkness and the dangerosity of the road.

She then saw an "orange red thing" to use her own exrpession, "similar to a luminous jellyfish suspended in the air at a low height, under which hang like sorts of mobile tentacles, the whole bathing in a kind of luminous fog ". Its luminosity was relatively strong and the whole seemed to oscillate slightly. It was located in a clearing opened on the road, it seems, at only some dozens of meters. Initially surprised and curious, she observed it some second while strongly slowing down, then was suddenly sized by a great fright and accelerated to flee. She noted at this time that a strong heat reigned in her vehicle and she wanted to decrease the heating. She then noticed that the heating was not under operation (external air not heated), but also that the left sleeve of her jacket was burning hot. She lost sight of the the observation in her retro at the end of a few seconds, the road being bend and sinuous in the forest.

Ten minute later she arrived at the residence where she shared, still frightened, her experience.

The weather was: rainy and misty, soft weather.

Precision on the location: planted plate of spruces, more or less marshy ground, no house light or public lighting at less than 2 to 3 km. In any event masked by the height of the trees.

By memory, following my checks at that time, no possible confusion with the moon, given the hour (my memories are vague on this subject).

In answer to my questions, she confirmed to me that the thing was in front of the trees at the bottom of the clearing, and lower than their summits, which gives: approximate outdistance 40m, height 15 to 20m, low very close to the ground.

Attached is a rough drawing faithful to the observation.

We went on the spot by day 2 days later, there was nothing particular to find (like traces...).

I since tried several explanations which could agree with the observation (lighting rocket, lit parachute, hallucination...) but her reactions are invariable: no and a thousand times no, completely different.

Her fear while thinking of it again did not decrease 3 years and half later.

It should be noted that the painting of the roof of her vehicle has degraded since, to the point of being completely peeled off today (this is only a note).

It is to be noted that powerlines of very high voltage pass at a few hundreds of meters of the place of the observation.

Last development: I recently showed her a photograph of UFO (also attached) grabbed from the Internet and which may resemble her observation: she quite recognizes hers thing in it: it is enough to imagine the same thing by night, orange red fluo, at the corners of a wood, with more things moving below.
