From: [adresse eMail] Hello, I take advantage of your website to provide a statment of the observation of a luminous phenomenon seen in Aix-en-Provence on 06/28/05 at abour 10:15 p.m.. The night was not yet completely dark. Duration of the observation : some fifteen seconds max Shape : rather flat hexagon (flat at the top and bottom) * * * * * * * * * * (the formation is approximated, the number of points too. They were of yellow white color scintillating, which could raise difficulties to count them). Size: from my position, ten centimetre of width for 3 to 4 in height. Direction and behavior: NW / SE (at the beginning) then rotation direct East (roughly speaking, after evaluation on a chart, in the direction to Peyrolles / Cadarache). I was at the beginning oriented on a NW/SE axis, the shape was coming "towards me". When that started to turn towards the east while "going up" (i.e. while following an ascending curve all while inclining itself to the top of a few degrees). The shape gave the impression to be in 2 dimensions: no additional form, no "depth": the colors became blurred while changing to white (always slightly scintillating) until it disappeared. Approximate distance from the observation spot: 3 kilometers? Observation by night. I did not think of observing the position of the moon (I do not know besides if it was in the sky at at this hour) Lastly, I was on a terrace on the heights of the town centre, the shape was within about fifteen centimetres above the top of the highest houses. Personally, I was astonished to see such a formation. I believed in the beginning that this was a group of planes but there was one type of light only, and that had nothing to do with takeoff or landing headlights. No sound was heard. Hoping this is of some use ! Best regards, |
