Subject: sighting report, paris march 2007 Sir, Let me write to you to share my testimony. On Tuesday March 27, I was dinnin at a friend who lives street of the Pyrenees in the 20th district in Paris. At about 9 p.m. I went close to the window to smoke a cigarette, the street was well lit, it was the night and I looked outside, The sky was clear. At this point in time I could observe a curious phenomenon: There was an airliner which passed rather high and rather far in the sky, quite recognizable and identifiable by its twinkling lights, (that is what I was looking at totally randomly) and sudden, much lower, a little above the top of the line of the buildings I saw appearing a kind of luminous bar of orange red color, perfectly rectangular and motionless, exactly as if one had lit all the lights of a floor of a building, (this is besides what I thought except that a this place one usually sees only the horizon and Paris undernearth, given the fact that Belleville where I was is on heights, moreover there was a rather clear cloudy mass behind the phenomenon, this is why I can state that it was "in flight" or in any case in the air). The rectangular line remained motionless and perfectly visible during ten seconds (although I did not distinguish its contours for it was distant of several kilomètres(1) and that it was the night) then the light intensified and turned off all of a sudden. The quite rectangular form of this line and its "electric" aspect makes me think that it was something artificial. It was not really impressive but all the same very strange to see for it did not resemble anything known, and to be honest it is the first time that I see something in the sky without being able to associate any reference with it. I would like to know if other people saw this thing and if somebody knows what it was. Thanks in advance. PS: Thank you for not letting my name appear in the event of publication. (1) I made a rough estimate of several kilometers because from there I was I saw the end of the street, and the street of the Pyrenees is one of the longest of Paris, but the luminous bar was further, but nevertheless in front of the cloudy mass. |
