Hello, my nam in [Firstname], I am 24years old, it's been a few years that I search testimonys concerning an observation dating from the beginning of the years 80( between 1980 and 1982) in Sorgues (vaucluse) but without succes. These testimonys and particullarly this sighting interres me for I was a witness myself, the problem is that at the time I was in CE1 [age 7-8]. What I observed: A mettalic sphere of approximately 2m of diameter overhanging the enclosing wall of the primary school JEAN JAURES in Sorgues, the wall must be approximately 7 or 8 M in height, the sphere is slightly above and back (not more than 2m) above Main road 7, the sphere is completely motionless, of brushed aluminium color, not shining, no noise, no oscillatory movement, it occurs during the canteen interclass at abbout 12 o'clock. Many children present are witness of the phenomenon, until the schoolteachers, and even the school head (Mr. Sinard) notice the thing and have us get inside in panic, and contact the police.

I knew in the following days that this object was observd at the the same hour on several neighbouring comunity, among those, Vedène, Entraigues sur sorgues and chateauneuf du pape. The press reported the fact, and the explanation by a weather balloon probes was given, but I remain very septikal, even if my memories are remote, I saw photographs of weather balloons, and this did not resemble a balloon, the more so because a weather balloon being at most at 10M of the ground, could not have been observed at the same hour on several comunities being more than 15kilometres distant for some of them. That day the sky was clear and I do not have memories that there was wind.
