The report:

I am an amateur astronomer. On Thursday July18 2002, I receive an email from the newspaper "ciel et espace"telling me that 2 very strong solar flares had taken place. As a metter of fact spots appears on the sun and we have a 40% chance of observing aurorae boreales the evening.

At 11 p.m., I go on my balcony in order to observe these splendid phenomena. In the west, the sky is still bright, the sun at this season not going down very low under the horizon.

I look at "the herdsman" at the zenith and suddenly close to the Nekkar star, I see a fluo orange light. The latter splits in two. 2 orange fluo discs of the same diameter appear. The first moves away, stops, awaits the other which joined it quickly and so on during 1 mn approximately. It gave the impression they were playing. I could follow this phenomenon for only 1 mn approximately. Indeed, the discs moving towards the big dipper, the sky at this place being brighter, I quickly lost sight of them. At my regret.

I very regularly scan the sky since years and I acknowledge that i never saw such a phenomenon.

What is certain, s that they were not shooting stars, or meteors, satellites or any other object familiar to our eyes. All these things, I already observed them at least once for some. Maybe I did not see any aurora borealis this evening, but what I saw instead is quite as beautiful due to its mystery.

I give you this report, which will not give you any additional data it is important to me to speak about it.

I know that in general, astronomers do not mix astronomy and ufology. I believe that if the astronomers think that we are not alone in the universe, they must assume their thoughts and accept that someone else knows our existence. The 2 things are complementary. Personally, I am also very interested in "strange" phenomena having read books on this subject and having recorded television broadcasts.

I remain at your disposal for further information.
