Subjet: Testimony Hello, my name is [Firstname] [Name]. I live in the Pas-de-Calais, in Noyelles sous Lens (2 km from Lens) Last 14 July, I was returned [from a cultural event] in Lens (my daughter is [age] years old!) We shortened the concert for the weather was very hot and our son of [age] years old showed signs of tirednesses. Towards 11:00 p.m., we returned on our premises... At about midnight, I was in the garden with my wife and my daughter, we were stargazing. The sight that we have is full south, without notable variation with the compas (2° towards the west) We looked at a very brilliant star towards the western south-south. I make a point of announcing that we had no shooting of fireworks in our fields of vision, the few shootings had already taken place, for the other shootings, they were very in the west and very low on the horizon. I saw coming from the west (for I precisely tried to see whether there were shootings to show them to my young kid!) I saw coming from the full West, direction full East, 5 spots of light, in triangular formation. The height, compared to the horizon, can be estimated as of 60-70° (thus well too high for a fireworks shooting...) I called my daughter (who was looking in the direction of the East, at my side) and my wife who was placed on our bench, vis-a-vis the West. We followed these 5 spots approximately 10-11 s, not more, on an horizontal field which I estimate as of 90-100°. After 3 to 4 s of observation, one of the spots which was left of the triangle, continued straight (full East), whereas the formation veered towards the South-east. It strongly accelerated and joined with the formation... It was absolutely fantastic... I could not calculate the pace of travel of these spots, not managing to estimate the height; only the angular velocity can be estimated... It is uncanny... 90 to 100° of horizontal field is crossed, a height, compared to the horizon, estimated at 60-70° IN 7-8 SECONDS...!!! At the same time, in the South-South-East, an airliner flight passed (we have the air lanes to Lille-Lesquin in our field of vision but also the air lines towards Brussels and London) no confusion is possible... with its quite visible navigation lights. Then a few seconds later, a satellite passed in the sky, just above us, coming from the South-South-East and going to the North-North-West. Diificult to have more comparison targets at the same time. I hope that my testimony will enable you to compare it with others... It is impossible that others did not see them... Regards, [Firstname] |
