The observation of the total eclipse of the sun of the last June 30 made it possible to collect a vast scientific harvest. Seven months after the return of the French astronomers from the various points of observation, in particular in Mauritania - where the duration of the eclipse was the longest - a first assessment was drawn up Wednesday evening, at the Palais de la Découverte.
Mr. Henri Turcat repeated that the flight of the "Concorde" on this occasion had been very enthralling, by the extreme precision with which it was to be carried out. The plane passed except for one second, after 45 mn of flight, at its point of appointment with the total eclipse. With regard to the photograph caught by Mr. Pagot, photographer on board the "Concorde", on which one believes to observe a UFO, the conclusion of the scientists is unanimous: one can only speak on this matter about an "optical effect still not identified" (OESNI).
