UFOs in the daily Press:

Flying saucers in Mexico, 1973:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Tribune de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada, page 19, le 4 juin 1973.

The return of the flying saucers

Mexico City (AFP). -- After the appearance of two UFOs (unidentified flying objects) in Nicaragua, several people claim to have seen flying saucers in the sky of Mexico City during the night from Friday to Saturday. These assertions are confirmed by the personnel of the airport of the capital who declare to have spotted on the radars of the unidentified flying objects (UFO), which would have caused a certain confusion in the Mexican public opinion.

Testimony

The daily 'La Prensa' quotes several testimonies in its Saturday edition. Three young people, who had gone on an excursion around Mexico City, claimed that in the middle of the night they were dazzled by a powerful light. After remaining motionless for a few minutes, they said, the light beam quickly moved to stabilize again about 800 yards from the camp. "It was not, they add, visions such as one represents them in the comics or in the cinema. It had the aspect of a half-moon surrounded by a ring of light rotating at very high speed. We were able to observe its movements for two hours before it disappeared."
