Chile: A U.F.O. shut down the power. -- An unidentified flying object (U.F.O.) observed by dozens of witnesses in the night from Thursday to Friday, was the cause of a power outage that plunged into dark much of the Chilean city of Antofagasta, 1400 kilometers north of Santiago.
The object, a huge saucer that moved oscillating and illuminated the sky with yellow and white colors, according to numerous eyewitness reports, flew over the center of this city of 200,000 residents between 4:00 and 6:00 (local time) in the morning.
The phenomenon has also deregulated the watch systems and disrupted radio transmissions, witnesses said. Employees of the National Telephone Company for their part, found a decrease in the voltage on their network for several minutes.
