Thursday evening, around 5:30 p.m., two road workers from the official Services of Bridges and Roads in Coulommiers, who were on the road between Meaux and Coulommiers, suddenly spotted, to the left of the road, in a field at the foot of a row of poplar trees, a strange craft on the ground...
According to the description given by the two road workers - Mr. Bernard Goujon, aged 30, living on rue des Charmes in Faremoutiers, and Mr. Pichet, living in Pommeuse—it was an oval-shaped craft, appearing to be made of a shiny metal, similar to aluminum, and about 3 meters in diameter.
"The craft, measuring about 2.5 meters in height," said the witnesses, "rested on the ground using three struts. It was topped with a kind of dome made of plastic material."
Two other people, who were riding their bicycles on the road, also saw the craft and gave a detailed description of it.
Mr. Goujon approached the saucer... but, at about 150 meters from the craft, he claimed he was struck by a tingling electric sensation and could not get any closer!...
"The saucer," the witnesses claimed, "then rose into the sky very slowly, and then disappeared at high speed."
According to official observers, it may have been a case of collective hallucination or a "large boat."
