The epidemic of flying saucers which prevails on all France, extends out of the borders and gains even the Middle East, Africa and... New Zealand.

A flying cigar in the sky of Riom

During the night from the 10th to the 11th of October at 00:45, policemen Robert Th venin and Albert Daury, of the urban squad of Riom, clearly saw a machine in the shape of a cigar in the sky which followed the direction south-north. Balls of fire were ejected from the front of the cigar and lit it. Three of these balls were counted by the civils servant and in their gleam, the apparatus shone like duraluminum. Almost at once after their ejection these balls died out. The total vision of the phenomenon lasted several seconds.

It was a weather balloon

Mr. Louis Segaud, resident of Les Fagots in Montcombroux saw Saturday evening [ October 9, 1954 ] towards 06:00 p.m. an object in the sky. He was soon in the presence of a weather balloon of the American army with parachute and a radiosonde apparatus. This device carried the following inscriptions: "Radio probe modulator. Signal Corps". This device was deposited at the gendarmerie squad of Le Donjon.

The hunters were only pranksters

Yesterday, a sensational news announced that in the Allier, close to Le Donjon, hunters had shot at a saucer and had collected pieces. The news spread in the area like a powder trail and an investigation was started on this matter. It finally seems that this story has been completely invented in a hotel of the locality at the end of a good hunting party.

In Germany

Whereas he was going home, a German movie theater operator, Mr. Hoge saw, close to Munster, in a field, a machine in the shape of a cigar under which four silent men covered of a rubber combination were busy. At the end of ten minutes, Mr. Hoge who had not dared to announce his presence, saw the four men returning in the cigar using a scale. They measured 1,20 meters approximately, had strongly developed chest, a large head, but short and thin legs. The cigar took off and a few meters afterwards, it took the shape of a saucer, projecting a dazzling light. In addition, thirteen pilots, several of them former aviators of Luftwaffe and student pilots of a gliding flight school who followed the evolutions of an instructor above the airfield of Ockstadt, near Frankfurt, were surprised to detect at three thousand meters of altitude approximately, a silvery disc slightly reinflated which moved without noise.
