UFO ballet in Val-de-Marne

It was to be expected that UFOs return with winter. Three unidentified flying objects were observed yesterday morning at dawn in the sky over the Val-de-Marne. Some people will think that this is an epidemic which, moreover, happens every year with the flu. The others, those who believe, will think like the "ufologists" that winter is the favorite season of extraterrestrials.

IT WAS in December 1979 that the young Pontoisian Franck Fontaine claimed to have been abducted by a UFO. It was in January and December 1978 that a Brazilian and a Mexican claimed to have had an identical experience. It was in February that a ballet of UFOs was observed in the skies of the Seine-et-Marne.

This time, yesterday morning, the sky of Bonneuil-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) served as a "target" for a few more or less gullible glances but also for telescopes and cameras.

A good number of residents of the town are convinced that they observed a strange phenomenon between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.

It was 6 o'clock, says Miss Christian Verpillat, twenty-one years old. I was with my fifteen-year-old brother Dominique when we saw two kinds of stars. We took the binoculars to see better and there we could distinguish the two lights, one of which was very large. They seemed connected to each other... The heart of these objects looked like a very bright white-yellow hedgehog whose quills seemed thicker at the bottom... A third object, different this one, then appeared. It was red, yellow and green...

About this last UFO, the residents of rue des Faux-Rois specify: It was moving slowly and it suddenly stopped before spinning around.

Mrs. Vertillat claims to have had time to take photos, which will be given to the gendarmerie. The latter was not aware of the phenomenon. As for the nearby Orly control tower, it did not detect anything suspicious.
