With the stories of flying saucers running through cities and countryside, we no longer know what to believe. Especially, as is the case when a reliable Nieppe female resident, was the only one to have seen one. But, leaving aside all the incredible of a story that snowballs by fascinating the regulars of the Café "Jeanne d'Arc", here is how the facts happened:
Returning around 9 p.m. to her home, while she was at La Clef d'Hollande, Mme Nana, daughter of Alphonsine, "mayor" of La Clef d'Hollande, saw a luminous object in the sky. When passing customs, she informed an official, her husband and her son. They were quite incredulous, despite Mrs. Nana having specified that it was a ball which rolled quickly!
Of course, this story was quick to go around the Place Jeanne d'Arc, maintaining conversations. Only Edmond Ente and his wife did not give their opinion, because they had just been grandfather and grand-mother.
Let's admit, to our great confusion, not knowing if it was indeed a saucer, because Mrs. Nana has become quite reluctant. We understand it all the better, as the area is frequented by the "songmakers" Armand Ente and Fernand Ulin, always on the lookout to feed their muse... Maybe Sainte-Cécile, who is the patron saint of musicians, will shed some light on this.
