Many walkers saw a luminous shape moving in space above the capital late in the afternoon. Eyewitnesses said it was not a plane but an unidentified flying object, which they described as a flying saucer.
The phenomenon occurred between "dog and wolf", around 5:40 p.m., as night fell on the capital. Motorists returning from a visit to the exhibition saw, as they were leaving the junction ramp to take the motorway, an object in the shape of a rectangle whose length was equivalent to three heights, and an outline well defined, pink in color tending to red. The UFO, which was above the fairground and being watched by a crowd of people, suddenly changed shape, lying on one side, before moving towards the capital. The witnesses were able to contemplate the phenomenon for a good minute.
This reignites the controversy over these flying machines in the Grand Duchy.
