UFO in the country of Apt?

Numerous people saw them...

Some (and they are increasingly numerous) believe in it; others remain skeptics. Nevertheless, the UFO (Unidentified Flying Objects) does not cease to feed discussions and newspapers chronicles.

This phenomenon is also the subject of very serious studies: scientists, savants, researchers and journalists consider the matter. Many books were written about UFOs. Testimonys of witnesses have their importance. The observation made Saturday at the beginning of evening in country of Apt by several witnesses worthy of faith must be added to the UFO file.

MR. GAUTIER:
"LIKE A PLANE ON FIRE..."

The most interesting testimony is that of a young farmer of Plan-de-Lacoste, Claude Gautier, let's listen to him.

It was approximately 07:05 p.m. and I was driving on the RN 100 in a R12 car, when between Notre-Dame de Lumière and Les Beaumettes, I suddenly saw a ball of the size of a grape harvest bucket come down spiraling from the sky, it was of orange red color, leaving behind a white and smoking trail. The craft came at low speed on my car and I thought of a plane which took fire. I then accelerated and when this ball disappeared, the road and the countryside were strongly illuminated on approximately 60 m around the car, hiding even the color of the headlights. I stopped at the Guill garage, in Les Beaumettes, who alerted the gendarmes.

Interesting facts to report, the car continued to circulate, the dogs which were in the R12 had no reaction, that evening a strong northern wind blew and the craft was at approximately 100 m high in the sky, it moved towards Apt.

Mr. Georges Julien resident in the L'Etang district in the Plan-de-Bonnieux, comes to confirm the statements of Mr. Gautier.

Saturday between 06:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., whereas I went out to feed the dogs, I saw a large gleam towards Goult. The sky was very orange red and I distinguished a motionless ball, then one to two minutes afterwards, all disappeared. I thought of firewroks, but when my son told to me that a mysterious object had been seen the same day in the same area, I made the connection.

OTHER TESTIMONIES

Inhabitants of Bonnieux, Lacoste and Goult claim they made an identical observation, as well as two gendarmes of the brigade of Beaumette who were puzzled by a red gleam in the sky. We impatiently await other testimonys which if they reach us could perhaps bring an explanation on this quite mysterious object seen in this last day of year 1977.
