A couple from Saint-Etienne was watching television when a red glow suddenly lit up the room. The windows were closed, but the curtains were open. This lasted a few seconds, then a new, very bright light, obviously coming from outside, illuminated the apartment again. Above the block was an elongated shape like the tail of a "very luminous" comet. "It was like fireworks of all colors." According to the couple, the phenomenon must have been about 1.50m to 2m in length. The object disappeared towards the north without making any noise.
