ARCACHON. -- A "U.f.o." is said to have been seen, by night, in the sky of Gujan-Mestras (the Gironde), by two young people of the locality.
Franck Pavia, aged 18, and Jean-Marc Guitard, aged 17, butchery apprentices, went to a party, towards 01:30, when they were constrained to stop their car due to engine trouble.
According to their testimony, the lights suddenly went out near the town hall of the village, while a humming was heard. "We ran to the entry of the course of the river Marne, they said to the police, and we saw within 200 meters of altitude approximately, an oval object, larger than a red plane phosphorescent, surrounded by white flames moving in our direction. Then it deviated of its trajectory and disappeared while taking altitude."
According to a report by the police of Gujan, a similar object had been observed six months ago not far from Biganos, in the Gironde.
