U.F.O. on Saint-Germain

The occupants of a car circulating on the National Road 308, along the forest of Saint-Germain (the Yvelines) yesterday morning saw, towards 07:30, a strange phenomenon: a gleam, lengthened, which moved slowly in the sky.

They alerted the nearest police station immediately, that of Maisons-Lafitte.

A patrol car, with several police officers on board, went at once on the spot. The constables indeed saw this long luminous trail moving away in the sky, in direction of the West, passing from the pink to the red-orange, before growing gradually blurred. [Good description of a noctilucent cloud.]

... and above Chad

DJAMENA. -- Flying saucers buffs will be able from now on to exert their curiosity in Chad, where during the same night several "extraterrestrial" phenomena have just occurred, as were defined by the Chad Press agency (ATP) in its bulletin.

According to the ATP, these "strange phenomena" occurred in the night from the 7th to the 8th of September, above Djamena, and Krim-Krim and Beinamar, two cities located at some 400 kilometers in the South of the capital [Djamena].

The agency, quoting witnesses from Djamena, reports that a luminous object "of nebulous appearance" and "flying slowly and at low altitude" crossed around 8 p.m. the sky from North to South.

One hour later, in Krim-Krim, twelve detonations are said to have resounded, at low altitude and accompanied by flashes. finally, still during that same night, Beinamar, sub-prefecture close to Krim-Krim, is said to have been flown over by "eleven lights in the shapes of mirages."

In the absence of scientific explanations, the Chad agency of press indicatesthat the national weather services of Chad do not dismiss the assumption of a meteorite or unidentified flying objects (U.F.O.).
