U.F.O. in the Vaucluse

Several testimonys made public yesterday give a report of an unidentified flying object which was seen, in the evening of Saint-Sylvestre, on four communities of the Pays d'Apt. A farmer of Lacoste (Vaucluse), Mr. Claude Gautier, stated to have seen the craft, about 07:15 p.m., moving towards his car and then flying over it a moment at about fifty meters height. He was seized by a great fright, persuaded that this was a about to crash on the ground.

He keeps the memory of a spherical object of orange red color leaving behind a white trail loaded with smoke. "The road, he says, was suddenly lit of a sharp gleam, as well as the surrounding countryside on a hundred meters around ".

Several other people among them two gendarmes observed this same phenomenon, either from their car, or from their home. A witness states he saw the craft immobilizing itself in the sky during nearly one minute before resuming its flight.
