LISBON (Reuter). -- Mysterious objects were seen during the weekend in the Portuguese sky and Santa-Maria (the Azores). The electronic pendulums of the airport stopped at 03:45 p.m. (local time) at the time when an object of cylindrical form passed in the sky, the Portuguese agency A.N.I reported.
The object seen above Santa-Maria was visible from 3 p.m. to 03:45 p.m., moving slowly towards the North-West at an altitude from 8.000 to 10.000 meters. The agency indicates that the weather services of the Azores had not launched anything at this time, nor did the fleet of British, French and Portuguese oceanic ships which were at the island.
In addition, the newspaper of Lisbon "Diario Popular" reported that a couple of Matozinhos, small locality close to Oporto, in the South of Portugal, had seen Saturday at dawn an object of orange color. The passage of the object had caused interferences at their radio set.
The presence of mysterious objects was also announced last week in Latin America. In Mexico, two brilliant objects were seen these last days above Chilpancingo, nearly 200 kilometers in the south of Mexico City. Six people claimed to have seen the objects during two hours.
In the beginning of the month, Argentinian, Chilean and British scientists who are in the Antarctic, reported to have seen mysterious object and have indicated that the electromagnetic instruments had stopped when they passed by.
