Toulouse (A.F.P.). -- Four witnesses claim to have seen an unidentified flying object on Tuesday evening in the sky of Carcassonne, Ariège and Toulouse.
A pilot from the Carcassonne Aeronautical Training Center, who was on a night flight, said he saw, around 8:30 p.m., an orange "ball" dragging a green "tail" heading northwest. After making a curve, the craft plunged and disappeared in a large red shower. A motorist who was four kilometers from Carcasonne claims to have observed the same phenomenon at the same time.
In Pamiers (Ariège), a supervisor of the Creusot-Loire factory told the gendarmes that at 8:54 p.m. he saw "an object with an elongated, flat shape emitting a bright blue glow and heading from east to west."
The phenomenon which, according to this witness, lasted 10 to 12 seconds, was observed again at 9:30 p.m. north of Toulouse by a witness.
