USSEL. -- The gendarmes of the Bugeat brigade, having learned yesterday morning through public rumor that a farmer from the hamlet of Mourieras, commune of Bugeat (Corrèze), Mr. Antoine Mazaud, had spoken with the passenger of a "flying saucer," went to the farmer to confirm these reports.
Mazaud told them that on September 10, at 8:30 p.m., while returning from his fields, he encountered on a path, 1,500 meters from his home, a man of average height, wearing a helmet without earflaps, who shook his hand and kissed him while uttering unintelligible words.
The man then climbed into a cigar-shaped craft, unlit, about three to four meters in length, which took off vertically and departed in a westerly direction, making no more noise than a bee.
Mr. Mazaud then stated that he had not wanted to talk about this story because he was afraid of being mocked. However, he confided in his wife, who in turn told the neighbors, and that is how the gendarmerie found out.
The lieutenant of the gendarmerie commanding the section went to the location where no traces were found.
