Nimes. -- The demonstrations of unidentified flying objects would not be the prerogative of our time. Some ancient texts speak of chariots or wheels of fire, and the Bible itself, especially in the book of Ezekiel, contains some disturbing parts. The regional group of investigation on the UFOS in Nīmes, "VERONICA", discovered for their part, two years ago, a precious document in the municipal library of Nīmes, describing "the appalling signs recently appeared in the air on the cities of Lyon, Nīmes and Montpellier in the great astonishment of the people". It was in the year 1621.
"Veronica" has done better since, by unearthing a text from 1589 in the Toulouse library, describing "wonderful signs that appeared on the city and the castle of Blois, in the presence of the king and the assistance of the people", as well as "dreadful signs that appeared in the sky between Paris and Saint-Denis, on January 12 and 13, 1589.
How not to be perplexed by reading that, "on Thursday January 12, 1589, large clouds were seen at night between Paris and Saint-Denis, which gave great clarity, gathered together, then retreated, and it came out a great number of arrows and lances of fire, which fought each other for a long time, then, after having fought well, they retreated again, then began to move, passed over the city of Paris and went straight towards the South..."
