A rumor is floating around Melbourne, Australia, to the effect that Fred Valentich, a young man who vanished after he said a UFO was pursuing him, actually is alive and well and hiding in a motel in Apollo Bay, a coastal town along the route Valentich was flying when his radio transmission ended abruptly. Valentich, 20, was heading down the coast and across a small strait toward King's Island when last heard from. His girl friend, Rhonda Rushion, 16, said he is alive "but it is still all top secret now."
