JOHN McFARLANE, of 34, St. Swithun's-road, Bournemouth, was lying in bed looking out of the window at one o'clock this morning when he saw what he thought was a flying saucer in the sky.
He saw what appeared to be two bright yellow circles joined by a "pole" and round the edge a glowing red circle.
He called another tenant of the building, and together they watched the "saucer" for about two hours.
The object, he told the Echo, appeared and disappeared at intervals.
Eventually he fell asleep.
