The article below was published in the daily newspaper L'Est Républicain, of Nancy, France, on July 5, 1976.
On the night of Saturday July 3 to Sunday July 4, Mr. M., site manager at the J.M. company was intrigued by the presence in the sky of a star of very good size which was moving slowly in the firmament on that cloudy night. This star took the form of a reddish crescent and remained for a few moments. Intrigued by this phenomenon, Mr. M. called neighbors. The object seemed very distant.
