A farmer claims to have spoken with the passenger of a "flying saucer"

Ussel, September 13. -- This morning, gendarmes from the Bugeat brigade, having heard through public rumor that a farmer from the hamlet of Mourieras, in the commune of Bugeat (Corrèze), Mr. Antoine Mazaud, had spoken with the passenger of a "flying saucer," went to question the farmer and verify the story.

Mazaud told them that on September 10, at 8:30 p.m., while returning from his fields, he encountered on a path, 1,500 meters from his home, an unknown individual of average height, wearing a helmet without ear flaps, who shook his hand and kissed him while speaking unintelligible words.

The man then entered a cigar-shaped craft, unlit, about three to four meters long, which took off vertically and departed westward, making no more noise than a bee.

Mr. Mazaud explained that he had not wanted to speak about the incident for fear of being ridiculed. However, he confided in his wife, who in turn told the neighbors, and that is how the gendarmes heard about it.

The gendarmerie lieutenant visited the location, but no traces were found.
