A witness reported to MUFON in May 2018:

"i saw the ufo with my boyfriend on May 27 at 0:25AM on our way home. first i thought it'd be a plane, then i realized that planes usually blink red but this doesn't. furthermore it was much too fast to be a plane. first it did fly in our direction (East), then suddenly it changed direction to south-east. for a few moments it just hold there, then it disappeared in under 5 seconds. it was a bit bigger than a normal star and so bright, and then, in a few seconds, it got darker and darker and then disappered completely. While the UFO was staying, i observed it it looked like an usual bright, big star, but i was able to see some lights going out of the ufo in much directions, not symmetrical but uncoordinated (look at the picture below)."."

French ufologist Francine Fouéré died:

Francine Fouéré died on May 26, 2018, at the age of 91. Widow of René Fouéré, of the "Groupement d'Études des Phénomènes Aériens " (Group of Studies of Aerial Phenomena) (GEPA), she was the dean of the French ufologists, having done a considerable work on the subject.

The Fouérés had been alongside Army General Lionel Chassin, president of GEPA.
