New Zealand military to release hundreds of pages about UFO sightings this year.

It is said by the website The Press that New Zealand military will release hundreds of pages about UFO sightings this year, including reports from 1979 to 1984 and references to the Kaikoura sighting of December 1978.

The files are held by Archives New Zealand and were to have been made public this month, but the Defence Force is removing personal information from them to comply with the Privacy Act.

A Defence Force spokeswoman said that at the moment they are working on making copies of the files, minus the personal information, and Once this is completed, they hope they are able to release a copy of all the UFO files, including some ahead of their normal release time, within the year.

The Press said they sought any Defence Force files on UFO sightings under the Official Information Act in August last year but the Defence Force said the request "would require a substantial amount of collation, research and consultation to identify whether any of that information could be released" that it was "not in a position to deploy staff to undertake that task", and that public files on UFO sightings were available from Archives New Zealand.

The Press requested access to those files from Archives New Zealand, but was not able to see them as they had been borrowed by the Defence Force.

A newspaper talks of strange filaments in the sky of Valeilles, France.

The newspaper La Dépêche speaks on their website about "strange filaments in the sky of Dausse" seen by Josiane D., who "doesn't stop to repeat, since yesterday morning, these same words, 'weir5d, weird' to all she crosses in the streets of Dausse or all that join her over the phone, saying that it was going to send "the photographs [to the] CRNS".

These photographs were reporteldy taken within several minutes of interval with a basic digital camera with binoculars placed in front of the camera lenses, whereas she "had not seen anything initially" but speaking about "odd things" in the sky which would not be a plane because it did not move and that "planes' lights flicker", neither a helicopter because there "would have been a deafening noise", nor a "laser" because there would be none of them in this area.

Apparemment it lasted several hours. the original pictures are not available and no direction of sightings or elevation are mentioned.

Neither the newspaper nor the woman wonder whether it could have been stars and planets like Venus, which leave exactly the impression of "traces" on the photographs simply because the camera shakes enough during the long night exposure.

Surprise photograph in Salta, Argentina.

In Salta, Argentina, on January 2, 2010 at 07:42 p.m., Victor Cintioni, a 61-year-old tradesman, photographed the sunset with his mobile phone, and, back home, looking at the picture on his computer, he believed to have captured a UFO because there was on the photograph a kind of "shape of red disc". It is unfortunately much more likely that this is just an internal reflection of the sun in the camera lenses, strongly saturated.

Observation in the Oleron island, Charente-Maritime, France.

The Sud Ouest newspaper talks about a UFO observation in the island of Oléron, in the Charente-Maritime, France, on January 1, 2010 around 20 hours.

Jean-Louis Fesseau, retired fishing sailor aged 60, is quoted saying that in the car he saw a large "strange, red and yellow" very luminous wing, immobilized in the sky, at approximately 600 meters of the coast, and 300 meters of altitude". He immediately went towards the beach and saw it for ten seconds before it disappeared on a Western course, without noise, but at "a vertiginous speed."

He is quoted stating to the gendarmes that the phenomenon was not "atmospheric", that he spent 35 years at sea, and knows what he talks about, that it is the first time that he sees a similar thing, that it is not a distress rocket nor a rescue helicopter.

A couple of restorers from Medoc located at 1 kilometer made an exactly similar description.

The newspaper indicates that this weekend the gendarmes of Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron contacted Mr. Fesseau, and that there is an investigation supervised by Lt Bourdajeau, which "seems besides to confirm the particularly mysterious character of the UFO."

The lieutenant says that "the first hearings underline objective and coherent elements", that there are multiple witnesses, and that it was an "object of ovoid form, silent, and which disappears suddenly at 20:09" and that his direction was informed.

The thin data of the newspaper hardly allow sure interpretations, one should however consider a possible military drill, a jet plane, firework, meteor etc.

First "UFO fleet" of 2010 is just Chinese lanterns launched for New Year's Eve, Germany.

A chap posted on Youtuve what he calls "This Video shows UFOs or Orbs over Mülheim Germany on New Year 2010. ... These are the ones I could film, in all there where about 12 that we saw. Sorry for the poor quality, tried to get a focus. ... No...they are not parts of the Firework !! Because Firework does not burn for so long !! Nor are they Planes or Helicopters, note that there are no Blinking Lights on them !!'"

The video shows what looks like Chinese lanterns, who do "burn for so long" and do not have "blinking lights on them".

"UFO" blog says UFO Sighting New Year Eve 2010 "coming soon".

The first silly claim of year 2010 is from the sensationalist "UFO" blog www.ufo-blogger.com, who says that "UFO Sighting New Year Eve 2010" is "coming soon"...

Two weeks of "UFO" calls in Scotland.

In the two last weeks there were apparently numerous phone calls in Scotland from people seeing "mysterious" lights in the sky, mostly in Angus and Fife.

One of the witnesses, Fife councillor and RAF veteran Ron Caird, said to a newspaper: "As a former member of the RAF, it was clear to me that this was no hovering helicopter, nor indeed any other aircraft. After observing this strange phenomenon for three to four minutes, I was astounded when the ball suddenly reduced to a pinprick of light in seconds, suggesting that it had moved away at incredibly high speed. I can assure you my eyes did not deceive me."

This is what happens when a Chinese lantern is finally burned off, providing the interpretation error that it "it had moved away at incredibly high speed". The RAF is no ufology school. This is not the eyes deceiving the witness, but the witness making wrong supposition about what he really saw.

Latest BS by Michael Cohen.

Michael Cohen claims he is a "investigator, writer and speaker" of the "paranormal" and published on his website all over the years the silliest nonsense about UFOs, easily explainable UFO sightings, and loads of unresearched "UFO videos" he finds on youtube etc.

For the end of the year, he claims stuff like:

"In the last few months dramatic developments have occurred in regards to human/extra-terrestrial relations and communication. Small UFO probes communicating with earthlings have been sending messages indicating that while open contact might be around the corner, if we don't mend our ways we might find ourselves on the galactic list of extinct species."

"It is now known that the civilization located in Andromeda Galaxy that is communicating with us via these UFO probes refer to themselves as ‘Axthadans’. They are at least several thousand years ahead of humanity in terms of technology. Their appearance lies somewhat between the race we refer to as ‘Greys’ and our own. This alien civilization has in fact been watching humans and even discreetly guiding them for thousands of years."

"It has also now been confirmed that the Axthadans are not directly sending these probes. The probes are being sent by the race often referred to as 'Greys'. Greys are in fact another sub-group, as we are, of the Axthadan race. The Grey's home planet is within the Milky Way and believed to be located about 30 light years away from Earth. 'Greys' are a few hundred years ahead of humanity in terms of technology and have only been inducted into the wider universal community relatively recently (possibly a few hundred years ago)."
