WOMAN PUZZLED BY PINK NOCTURNAL LIGHT IN LONDON, U-K.:

The Sun newspaper reported on February 13, 2008, that a 41-year-old woman who gave only her firstname filmed a puzzling bright pink orb in the South-East London night sky with her cellphone on February 12, 2008 around 06:15 p.m. She and her partner Adrian, 41 and daughter Carlie, 10, saw it out of her kitchen window in Anerley.

She said she first thought it was a firework, then it started moving. She said "It was bigger than an orange, glowing bright pink."

She assures that she is used to often see the headlights of planes headed for Gatwick Airport, then thought the lights may have been the sign of an aircraft in trouble, or with engines on fire, but it was like nothing before and very strange. When she rushed upstairs to another window to get a better look, the light disappeared.

A National Air Traffic Services (NATS) spokesman said they had no reports of any aircraft in difficulty or anything that might have created that problem.

London UFO Studies' Roy Lake viewed the footage and said itt's an unknown, and that they have been getting "a hell of a lot of UFO sightings."

MINISTRY OF DEFENSE SAY THEY RECEIVED 135 SIGHTING REPORTS IN 2007 FOR ONLY 97 IN 2006, U-K.:

Numerous if not most British newspapers report that the British Ministry of Defence said the number of reported UFO sightings in the UK has risen in 2007.

The number has "soared" in the last year with people calling the Ministry of Defence with concerns about bright white lights, strange triangular-shaped objects and even alien abduction.

The MoD took recorded 135 events reported by witnesses including three pilots in 2007, whereas only 97 were reported in 2006.

MoD's policy is to say that they are not interested because it is not a defense issue and that they do not investigate UFO sighting reports because they have no proof that they are alien spaceship.

These reports are on the MoD's website at:

COUPLE SPOT WEIRD ORANGE FALLING MASS, METEOR OR UFO, BUBBENHALL, U-K.:

A Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, couple in their 60's, Cliff and Carol Sheldon, say they were shocked to see a spinning orange mass shooting from the clear night sky and nearly smash into their car on Stoneleigh Road in Bubbenhall on February 11, 2008, at 9 p.m.

They said it was cylindrical in shape and about half the size of their Vauxhall Corsa.

Cliff said he just saw a great big thing spinning round with lights on, and Carol was panicking, saying that it might explode. He felt it could have been something burning and had no doubt that it was real.

Carol described a flat round structure "like a giant dinner plate" that was flashing orange.

She said it was moving very fast and they thought it was going to hit the car, as it looked like it must have come down in the fields nearby.

They reported it to the police, and a Jack Cohen, Warwick University professor with an interest in UFOs said they may have seen a meteorite [a meteor] rather than a flying saucer.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said they have reports from time to time but are not aware of anything reported to them that would corroborate the couple's claim.

FAMILY SPOTS WEIRD OBJECT IN THE SKY NEAR SOUTHAMPTON, U-K.:

The Southern Daily Echo newspaper, Hampshire, U-K., reported on February 15, 2008 that a Southampton family of four was travelling west on the M27 motorway near junction 3 near the city on February 9, 2008 at 06:20 p.m. when they saw a strange shape in the sky; which they followed on the A31 before it disappeared.

The family wished to remain anonymous for fear of being ridiculed. The mother said that it was a large dark object becoming more visible, that appeared to have a triangular shape to it but with their movement and the object's movement it was hard to say a shape for sure.

Her partner, aged 30, and two children aged 8 and 12 all saw the object and described it as triangular from one direction and oval from another with no distinct outline. Her partner said that it could have been the size of a jumbo jet but it was not moving fast, more hovering, and they went past Rownhams, that saw see it to their left.

He did not feel scared and tried to put it down to rational things. He said it could have been a cloud but then they saw a helicopter beaming its lights down and knew it was something strange.

The mother said that it was unmissable and with the amount of traffic on the road she refuse to believe thousands of people on the road did not see it. She also saw what we was certain to be a helicopter dwarfed by this large object. The helicopter was higher up than the UFO and it was aiming its lights down towards the UFO.
