Italian ufologist Arcangelo Cassano reported in 1996 that another case of "flying humanoid" was reported in Rocchetta Sant'Antonio, Foggia, Italy, on September 11, 1995.
At 07:45 a.m., a 20-year-old woman A.G. was taking her sheep pasturing in a valley when she noticed something shining, and "low". She got closer and the thing suddenly turned toward her and showed itself to be a 50 centimeters tall smiling humanoid with a brown coverall within a sort of transparent space-suit.
The woman saw two eyes and a nose, two legs and seemingly neither arms nor mouth. A sort of silver half-sphere was on its shoulders, and an antenna was above it.
She gazed at it for about 5 minutes from a distance of 200 to 250 meters, then decided to go home, but soon found that the creature was now following her. She was panicked and begun to run to the road where she met a passing driver, L.D., aged 31, and told him what she saw.
The automobilist tried to get closer to the being and later described it as a dwarf walking to and fro in the valley, later began trotting along on its short legs and taking off. The woman, but not the man, said she heard a noise like a motorcycle.
The man also described a sort of white trail coming from the half-sphere on the humanoid back, while it was flying away.
Two more people, apparently the mother and the aunt of the woman, also saw the flying thing, from the little town.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Rocchetta Sant Antonio, Italy, on September 11, 1995, at 05:45 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was taking her sheep to a pasture in a valley, when she noticed something shiny standing nearby. She got closer to the object and it suddenly turned towards her. She could now see that it was a small smiling humanoid wearing a brown coverall within a sort of transparent "space suit." It stood about 50cm tall and appeared to have no arms or a nose. It had a silver half sphere with an antenna on top, on its shoulders. She stared at the figure for about 5 minutes then began walking back home. The small being apparently began following her. The witness panicked and she called out to a neighbor, who attempted to approach the small being. This one then began to trot quickly away, then it took off into the air emitting a noise like a motorcycle motor. Two others saw the flying humanoid over a field.

The authors indicate that on September 11, 1995 in Rocchetta Sant'Antonio (FG), a girl in her twenties, A.G., reported to have seen a flying humanoid going down from the sky and landing on the ground of a valley where she had her herd grazing. It was very low and its size was estimated as approximately 50 centimeters but for the remainder, it was of human appearance except for the arms which are not determined clearly.
The girl was at approximately 200-300 meters but she was frightened and decided to flee. In her escape she came across a passing motorist, L.D., aged 31, to whom she told what happened; and he too, having approached the place where the thing had been located, sees a very small being, hopping and then literally taking off. The mother and the aunt of the girl also witnessed it.
One point of the case seems to casts serious doubt on the reliability of the account: the fact that the humanoid was said to be smiling, whereas it was apparently seen as far as 200 to 300 meters. I do not believe that it is possible to see that some 50 centimeters high person at such a distance is smiling. However, the detail per se could have been sincerely observed and be in fact one clue leading to an ordinary explanation. On the other ends, I wonder how a smile could be perceived whereas the figure was indicated to have no mouth.
One possibility was that it was not a 50 centimeters man but a kite. In such a case, a large "smiley" could be painted on it, it could have no arm and no nose, it could land, it could appear wrapped in something transparent and so on. As the report stands, it is hard to see if this explanation was thought of, if it was discarded, or if it was not thought of.

Still another possibility is that of some plastic or paper bag carried up and down by the wind. In one rather recent Turkish sighting report of a flying and hopping humanoid, the description was correct that it looked like some space alien could, but ultimately, the alien was found to have been a bizarre assembly of a yellow plastic bag with some paper trash attached to it.
On the other end, the "half-sphere on the shoulders" of the humanoid is to be considered as a possible clue that it was using a parachute. If this is so, we would have a very distorted account of an ordinary man coming down with a parachute; but this possibility is also really at odds with all the rest of the story: the hopping, the taking off, the "transparent space-suit" etc.
Finally, it does not appear possible to put forth one explanation or another, essentially due to lack of precise data such as a plan of the manoeuvers, the angular sizes, the exact information on the mentioned landing and taking off sighting distance, the winds, etc.
