In the night from July 22 to 23, 1982 at 2 o'clock in the morning, in Sainte-Dorothée, Quebec, Canada, Denise Labre, dispatcher for ambulances was in duty at her office and had awaited the latest ambulances, while noticing young people who had mounted their of camp-site tent not far, in an area uninhabited on more than 10 miles around.
She saw a round and white light three times larger than the full moon which hovered above the field which was behind her office. The light was motionless and completely silent, it was neither a natural phenomenon, nor something which come from our planet, she specified later, indicating that she calls it a flying saucer because there is no better term for such a weird thing.
At the same time the group of the three young campers boys, Stéphane Ledeau and his comrades François and Michel, saw the luminous object, projecting a beam of white light towards the ground from its center, silent and motionless in the cloudless sky, at 1000 feet above the field and some 1000 feet or 100 meters away, they estimated. They had initially thought of a plane but there was no noise. The UFO carried lights which changed color from the red to the yellow and blue, and a red light moved around it. It came to hover close to a barn.
After the UFO was immobilized there, not much occurred, the boys looked at it, it was beautiful to see, it still was noiseless.
One of the boys indicated that they went into the field with their flashlights, and there was a big blow of wind, and they all had a pain in the belly at the same time, and he felt like "a cold", and that they went back into their tent. During that time, the UFO had swept the field with its headlight.
When it set out again while flying above the houses, the young people heard that it produced a low-pitched noise. Denise Labre said so on her side, describing a deaf noise that she was unable to compare to anything ordinary.
Once the UFO had left, the young people returned in their tent. They heard, approximately 5 to 10 minutes after the departure of the UFO, a noise outside, they went out of the tent and swept the field with their flashlights.
Stéphane Ledeau indicated to see something, they went to get a more powerful flashlight, a diver's flashlight, operated by Stéphane. Another of the boys indicated that he then saw eyes and the legs, rather blurry, and its flashlight turned off, while Stéphane looked at the being from another place.
The three young people clearly confirm they had the impression that the being was an intelligent being, and not some animal such as a raccoon, for it was 5 or 6 feet tall. It did not grunt nor made any noise but run or walked, bent, from one end of the field to another.
When an investigator asked the boys if they had the impression that there was a telepathic communication between the being and them, the boys says there wasn't. One of the boys specified to him that the being only checked them out, looking at them. On the investigator's question, he specified that he could not see if it had ears. They would also specify on his request that they had neither unusual dreams nor psychological disorders after the observation.
The three panicked young people took refuge in the arms of Denise Labre and entered the building. She tried to calm them down, telling them that maybe the being was only some animal.
They went outside again to get their sleeping bags, as they did not want to sleep outside anymore.
According to some versions, this time "several odd beings came to haunt them" and the young people distinguished strange forms, 5 to 6 feet tall, with two long arms and two legs which "thinned down", running without emitting animal noises or other noises. Newspaper would tell about large brown heads and luminous red eyes.
Traces of steps on the ground were noted, but two days later, a heavy rain washed it away. One of the boys drew the shape of these traces and specified that he had never such footsteps traces, that they were of "big steps" and like those of a large bird's feet.
The story appeared in the press and it seems that the young people were assaulted by curious people and met a certain amount of incredulity.

Encounter of the third kind in a corn fieldA teenager from Quebec, Stéphane Ledeau, had an encounter of the third kind in the end of the week in a corn field in Sainte-Dorothée, in the North of the Montreal archipelago. The extraterrestrial being "measured five or six feet (1.50 to 1.80 m). It had oranges eyes. Its head was bulky, of brown color. I was so afraid that I fled", told the teenager at the end of the field with a friend. Before this nocturnal encounter, these same campers, one of their parents and a girl saw, they said, "a mysterious flying object, of the size of a large helicopter, which moved in silence and slowly while projecting a ray of light above the ground." |

The investigation report of Richard Glenn indicates that in the night from the 22nd to July 23rd, 1982, in Sainte-Dorothée, Quebec, Canada, the observations which follow took place.
Denise Labre, dispatcher for ambulances, arrived at her work towards midnight, when she saw a round and white light three times larger than the full moon which hovered above the field behind her office, in an area uninhabited on more than 10 miles around.
She then spoke to a group of three young boys, Francois, Michel and Stéphane, who had set their tent there to camp, then she returned into her office to work.
François and his comrade Daniel indicated that a beam of white light directed towards the ground came out of the center of the luminous object, which was silent and motionless in the cloudless sky, a 1000 feet above the field and a come 1000 feet of the three young people. The UFO carried lights which changed color from the red to the yellow and blue.

Denise Labre, who had returned to her office to work, heard at approximately 02:00 a.m. the young people shout and came out. She sees and hears the UFO take off fast towards the sky.
The three young people, panicked, took refuge in the arms of Denise Labre and entered the building.
They went out to get their sleeping bags later, for they did not want to sleep outside anymore.
This time, "several weird beings came to haunt them." The young people distinguished well the strange forms, which were 5 to 6 feet tall, with two long arms and two legs which "became thin." The beings would run very very fast without emitting shouts nor other particular sounds.

The UFO was not there anymore, at least, they did not see it anymore.
Traces of steps on the ground from these beings were noted, but two days later, a heavy rain made all the traces disappear.
Denise Labre told the investigators that the radio communications with the ambulances fleet had been impossible because there were too many static disturbances in the air during the approach of the UFO.
Richard Glenn provides on his site web (see bibliography) photographs of the four witnesses and the audio recordings of statements they provided.
One of the boys stated that at the beginning of the observation when they initially saw the UFO, he saw a large beam of light, like a large light, within a hundred meters, and that they initially thought of a plane but it did not make any noise. That was immobilized close to a barn which the boy pointed out, and they saw a red light which flew around the UFO, there were also white, yellow, green light.
After the UFO was immobilized there, not much occurred, the boys looked at it, it was beautiful to see, it still did not make any noise.
One of the boys indicates that they went to walk in the field with their flashlights, and there was a large blow of wind, they had all the three a pain in the belly at the same time, and he had like "a cold." They went up into their tent. During this time, the UFO had swept the field with its headlight.
When it set out again, flying above the houses, it however made a deaf noise. The boy indicated the blocks above which it moved away.
Another boy confirms to have seen it leaving "all of a sudden", and indicates that they then returned inside the tent, that he points out to the investigator, the tent being still there at the time of the interview.
He states that they heard a noise outside, they came out of the tent and swept the field with their flashlights. Stéphane indicated to see something, they went to get a more powerful lamp, a diver's lamp which lights far, operated by Stéphane. Another of the boys indicates that he then saw eyes and legs, and the lampturned off, while Stéphane looked at the being from another place. He specifies that he saw only the eyes and the legs, that it was rather fuzzy, and that his lamp turned off.
The investigator asks whether that could have been an animal, such as a raccoon, the children deny this. Questioned on the size of the being, one of them indicates 5 or 6 feet.
The investigator asks whether they heard it grunt or make noises, one of the young people answers that it did not, that it run from one end of the field to the other.
The investigator asks whether the apparatus were in the neighborhoods, the boy says that it wasn't and specifies that this was five to ten minutes after that the apparatus had left.
The investigator asks the young people how the being could have come and left in the UFO since the UFO was not there any more, the young people do not know; one of them explains that they had been afraid, seeing such a thing for the first time, his comrades were also afraid, and they did not dare to go to see.
The three young people clearly confirm to have had the impression that the being was an intelligent being.
Denise Labre tried to calm them down, telling them that the being was maybe some animal.
When the investigator asks the boys if they had the impression that there was a telepathic communication between the being and them, the boys say that there wasn't. One of the boys specifies that the being only checked them out by looking at them.
One of the boys indicates that the being that they saw was of big size, that it walked bent. On request of the investigator, he indicates that it could not notice if it had ears.
The investigator asks whether the boys went to see the movie "ET", by Steven Spielberg, before the events, and a boy answers that they went to see that movie only after the events. When the investigator asks if the extraterrestrial being that they saw resembles that in that movie, the three boys answer that it did not. One of the boys specifies that the being in "ET" is small, while the being they saw was tall.
The investigator asks whether they had dreams or psychological disorders after the observation, the boys answer that they did not.
One month after the observation, the investigator asks the young people if they were assaulted by people, investigators, official investigators, after having reported their experience. The young people answer that they were assaulted much. The investigator ask whether people made fun of them and the young people answer that people did not want to believe them.
The investigator asks if they regret to have reported the experience, one of the boys answers that it is perhaps better speak about such things only to the experts. Another of the young people says that he did not believe in such things before and that people who would see would also believe.
He asks them whether there still remains traces, one of the boys answers that perhaps there are still some broken branches. They confirm that there had been prints of step in the ground. One of boys indicates that he had never seen such sort of trace before, that they were of a "large step" and like a large bird's print. He agrees to again make a drawing of these traces.
The investigator interviews Denise Labre, who indicates that the observation "goes back to the week of July 23 " in the night around 2 a.m.. She observed what she cannot name precisely and thus calls a flying saucer, that she describes as a completely unusual object, of completely round appearance, of a rather bright color, which seemed made to catch the attention.
Questioned on the size of the object, she indicates that it was approximately two to three times that of the size of a full moon.
The investigator asks her whether she had the feeling that it was directed by an intelligence; she answers that she could say yes, because there is nobody in the world who could operate an object of such a size, so fast, and all so precisely.
The investigator asks her what she would say if somebody told her that it was a natural phenomenon, as for example ball lightning. She answers that she would flatly say no; it was not something from nature, and, not something from our planet.
She reports the events: ambulances dispatcher, she had gone to her office to take her duty and awaited the last ambulances which return towards 1 hour of the morning. The employees left, while the boys were installing their tent. One of the boys waited until it was done. She then saw the large light above the field, not understanding what that could be, why it was here, why it was motionless, and she started to observe it.
At some time, it moved in direction of the office, at a steady speed and height, then it deviated a little bit, direction East. It arrived rather near to her and it was something very unusual. It did not make any noise during all this time, however, at the time of its disappearance it produced a low noise. The investigator tries to obtain a comparison for this noise, but there is none, it was not a usual noise.
The investigator reminds her that people say to have seen a being and asks her whether she has any idea how this being could have come from the object. She thinks that the being could have left it at the beginning the observation, because she had had the impression that the object waited for something or somebody, but she had not told this in the beginning because these beings were seen later in the events, and only after that did she make a connection.
[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in "Saint Dorothee", Quebec, Canada, on July 23 1982, at 02:00 a.m., several witnesses watched a huge object hovering above a field, that projected a powerful beam of white light towards the ground and had flashing multi-colored lights around its edge.
The object then vanished from sight behind some buildings.
Moments later some of the same witnesses heard strange "electronic beeps" coming from a nearby cornfield.
Shining a flashlight at the field, they caught sight of a six-foot tall figure with a huge brown head and large orange glowing eyes. A sudden gust of wind enveloped the witnesses with dust. All of them experienced strong stomach pains and ran into a nearby house.
Rosales indicates that the source is World Round-up, FSR Vol.28 #2.
The UFO sighting is highly interesting, with four witnesses including an independent witness. The encounter with the being is difficult evaluate because of lacks in the data resulting in the possibility that cannot be entirely excluded that it was some large animal all the same.
