A ufology catalogue on the web says that according to Christopher O'Brien, in Baca Grande, Saguache County, USA, one night in 1978, a woman suffering from ovarian cancer claimed she was cured by aliens who had abducted her saying that she "needed their help."
The full story is a bit more complex. Chrsitopher O'Brien, when he moved to the San Luis Valley, California, collected UFO stories of the area and pblished it in his 1996 book "Mysterious Valley".
He tells of a case on November 25, 1995, at 08:30 p.m. in Baca Grande, Saguache County. O'Brien uses pseudonyms for the witnesses.
A couple, expert mineral and crystal wholesalers, were enjoying a quiet evening at home, relaxing after preparing for a trip to South America to finalize the transfer of two lucrative amber mines to their wholesale business.
They had seen "strange lights and spaceships" near their house at the extreme southwestern end of the Baca Grande on several occasions "but not up close."
At 9 p.m. a powerful beam of light blasted down from outside and above the house, turning night into day. They scrambled off the couch, run to a window that faced the Baca Ranch, saw a bright reflection hit their cars parked outside. Above them, an orange-white light traveled silently across their yard toward the end of Camino Real, a street that dead-ends less than a half-mile away. Around that bright beam, they could faintly make out pulsing lights.
A 44 year-old mother of four suddenly realized she was behind the wheel of her truck, seven miles from her home and her children.
A strange force compelled her forward, in complete control of her free will. She could not fight the fact that she was driving out into the Grants, pulled as if by a magnet to the remote southwestern corner of the Baca development that borders the Baca Ranch.
She parked less than a half-mile from the home of the crystal wholesalers couple.
She remembered asking herself "What am I doing here?" as she sat numbly in her small truck at the end of Camino Real, overlooking the ranch 200 yards away. In a sweat, she loosened her coat and turned off the heater, wondering "What's gotten into me? Who's looking after my children?" Her watch read 8:30 p.m. Shivering, she pulled her light coat around her, wiped her nose with the back of her hand. It was now I freezing inside her truck.
She looked at her hand, it was I streaked with blood: her nose was bleeding, and when she looked at her watch it was 10:30 p.m.
She thought "My children!", wiped her face clean, turned the ignition, jammed the truck into gear, and rushed back to her house, where she found her children sleeping undisturbed.
She knew that the nosebleed meant she had been abducted by aliens as this had happened five years when she awoke with a nosebleed and "that peculiar feeling." She says "They" had come to her many times in the preceding 28 years, always came at night, and usually she had a bloody nose afterwards.
She says the first visit was when she was 7, it frightened her. She could never quite remember the details of what happened when "they" came but she remembered a voice that comforted her and kept her from being afraid. As she grew older, she learned to trust the voice.
The next morning, she felt exhausted but elated, re-minding her of another morning after an unbelievable night in 1978 when the visitors actually revealed themselves to her. It was her first, fully conscious encounter with the beings she now calls "the little brothers." A week before she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
She had felt their presence that night in 1978 and had been unable to sleep. A tremendous lightning storm had swept through the area. They often arrived during lightning storms. She didn't remember falling asleep but evidently she did. Upon waking, she reported...
"I was lying on a soft table in a white, circular room. I could only move my head. I don't recall how long I lay there but I felt peaceful. Then I heard the voice. It told me that I needed their help. I asked the voice if I could see them."
They appeared in front of her, around the foot of the table:
There were four of them; all identical. They were three to four feet tall, ivory white, and had large, almond-shaped eyes. A fifth being appeared in front of the four. This one was a little taller. Its eyes were intense! I couldn't stop staring into them!"
The taller being communicated directly with her mind and told her to not be afraid. She recognized the familiar voice. She told:
"I don't remember how I got there but somehow I found myself immersed in an L-shaped tank: A long, segmented arm came out of a console next to the tank and inserted itself into me. It wasn't painful but it didn't feel comfortable. I had to relax and trust the voice that kept telling me not to be afraid."
The next thing she knew is that it was morning, that she felt extremely tired and didn't have a nosebleed. Four days after this alleged encounter, she says, she returned to her doctor who, at her insistence, performed the same tests he had used to determine the status of her cancer, and they came up negative.
She is proudly convinced that "they" cured her of ovarian cancer. She is puzzled why they had her drive so far from her home that Thanksgiving Eve after not visiting for five years.
She told Christopher O'Brien: "I don't remember anything during almost two hours in my truck but I know it was the little brothers."

Witness: Woman Location: Baca Grande, Saguache County, USA Date: 1978 Time: Night A woman suffering from ovarian cancer, claimed she was cured by aliens. The beings abducted her, stateing that she "needed their help." (O'Brien, Mysterious Valley, p.38) |
Baca Grande Development, near Crestone, is literally a "new age" ground, filled with unorthodox churches, temples, ashrams, monasteries, "meditation seats" and cult houses of various cults of Indian, Christian, Zen, Buddhist or "new age" nature or inspiration. Of course, "crystals" are indeed sold to devotees and tourists. Of course, all sort of UFO stuff starts there, such as "Buddhist remote viewers predict the end of the World in 2012 when UFOs will reverse the earth magnetic field" etc.
I am thus no too much surprised that a woman there said she was visited by aliens since age 7 etc. What remains to be done is an investigation of the claims.
There is as far as I know at least about a dozen published cases of "UFO healings" of cancers - See Preston Dennett's 1996 book "UFO Healings" for example. These cases will sooner or later enter this CE3 catalogue. It may seem odd that most of these occurred to Californian women with a similar general pattern, but differences in details such as the "aliens" descriptions. Maybe this should not be considered proof of reality of the allegation, as it is very possible that the alleged "witnesses" just read and imitate one another's stories. Maybe it is best to just stick to the evidence, or rather, the lack thereof.
