Apparently, the CUFOS bulletin once reported that on 7 December 1978 at dawn in Caorle, Venice, Italy, there was a close encounter of the third kind by several witnesses who saw at least two objects on the sea.
The case was apparently explained as mistaken animals.
The website indicates that on 7 December 1978 at dawn in Caorle, Italy, there was a "Close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants. More than two objects were observed by numerous witnesses on the ocean. Explanation: Animals."
The source is indicated as International UFO Reporter, International UFO Reporter, CUFOS.
Points to consider:
With so little information, no decent source reference, and having found no other sources, I can only record the case and its explanation.
To note: there is no "ocean" at the location, but the Adriatic sea.
