The CUFOS bulletin International UFO Reporter reportedly told that in Richfield, Connecticut, on May 1978, at 0330 a.m., a loud buzzing sound woke up the main witness and his wife.
They both looked outside and saw at about 250 feet away a group of men that appeared to be busy at some task. These men suddenly all turned and looked at the witnesses simultaneously.
The men wore silvery helmets, tight fitting suits with reflective stripes and had glowing discs of light above their eyes. Each appeared to have its own light source.
The men finally moved away in a slow jerky gait disappearing from sight behind a garage.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Richfield, Connecticut, on May 1978, at 0330 a.m., a loud buzzing sound woke up the main witness and his wife, they both looked outside and saw at about 250 feet away a group of "men" that appeared to be busy at some task.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "IUR Vol. 3 #7, July 1978."
Maybe it is not so amazing that this story did not become a big hit of the ufology litterature:
If you take the quotes off around the word "men" in the [ar1] version, all strangeness goes. Did the witnesses doubt they were really men, or is this just some writer's addition to the story?
No UFO, no paralysis, no aliens there:
All that we have is a couple awaked by a "loud buzzing sound", perhaps that of sledgehammers, or electric saws, or a power unit, and who then sees men busy "at some task" curiously not specified, perhaps workmen urgently repairing some drain pipes, in outfits duly provided with reflective bands, rather expectedly, and provides with helmets with head lights which in the night fog become "discs of light above their eyes. Each appeared to have its own light source."
Did anyone think of that, was such a possibility considered, was there some field investigation that ruled it out? I does not seem like it. Was the distance of observation measured, were the visibility conditions checked out? I do not see any sign of it. What was the nature of the report in the CUFOS bulletin? A detailed article on an extraordinary case, or simply a newspaper story or rumour reported merely for information?
