Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The case seems to have been picked up in a portuguese magazine called "Galaxia 2000" and then entered the ufological litterature.

The story says that on January 6, 1978, at 10:30 p.m., in Santo Antonio de Caparica, Estremadura, Portugal, two men leaft a beachfront cafe and saw a bright bluish light flying low over the ocean, and go down at a steep angle at high speed. The light then stopped, and descended more slowly into a wooded area next to a nearby campground.

The two men ran into the woods, which were now illuminated by a bluish glow. When they entered a clearing, they saw a 2.1 meters tall human-like figure, standing eight meters away from them. It wore a loose-fitting silvery outfit, shiny in appearance, and a large white helmet with a narrow black visor across the eyes.

The figure seemed surprised by the men's presence, it turned around and with a heavy, slow motion, walked back towards a metallic blue saucer-shaped craft with a dome on top, that was hovering very close to the ground.

Both men became frightened and fled in panic from the clearing. During the encounter, one of the men felt a buzzing sound inside his head, and later suffered from insomnia. The next day, an eight-meters diameter circle was found in the ground in the clearing.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Santo Antonio De [sic, Da] Caparica Estremadura Portugal, on January 6, 1978, at 2230, two men walking away from a beachfront café saw a bright bluish light flying low above the ocean at high speed in a descending angle. The light then stopped and descended slowly into a wooded area, next to some nearby camping grounds. Both men ran into the wooded area, which was now completely lighted by a bluish light. Upon entering a clearing they saw 8 meters away a huge human like figure, wearing a loose fitting silvery outfit, shiny in appearance. He also wore a large white helmet with a narrow black visor at eye level. The figure stood across from the witnesses and then it turned around and slowly walked towards a hovering metallic bluish saucer shaped craft with a dome on top, that was hovering very close to the ground. Both men became frightened and ran away from the area. During the encounter one of the witnesses felt a peculiar buzzing sound inside his head and suffered from lack of sleep afterwards. The next day ground traces were found at the clearing.

The website indicates that on January 6, 1978, around 2200, in Sao Antonio De Caparica, Portugal, beings in bright white suit, white helmet with dark goggles, 2.1 m or 6.9-foot-tall, were seen at a minimum distance of 8 meters, they moved in heavy slow motions and acted surprised.

After seeing the entity, witnesses fled in panic. There was an 8 meters diameter circle, a pressure, a humming inside head.

One white sphere was observed by two witnesses, of typical age 35, in the woods, for six seconds. No sound was heard.

There was one tall being, wearing a white suit and helmet dark goggles.

Points to consider:

How can we be sure that the story was not simply made up by this "Galaxia 2000" magatine? No investigation report seems available and there is no sign that anyone checked into the matter.
