Ufologist David Conway reported that near Gisborne, New Zealand, on December 8, 1977, at 07:00 p.m., a man was driving near the Mandera Road, when he saw a silver suited being about 4 feet 9 inches tall, wearing red illuminated boots and a helmet, standing partially hidden by some bushes on the roadside.
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Gisborne New Zealand, on December 8, 1977, at 07:00 p.m., an anonymous motorist reported seeing near the Mandera Road, a silver suited being about 4-foot 9 inches tall, wearing red illuminated boots and a helmet. The humanoid stood by the side of the road, partially hidden by some bushes. The witness did not stop and drove away.

Points to consider:
No UFO, no sign of investigation, a perhaps fugacious sight at the being, brushes hiding parts of the being, a possibly short observation, no particular strangeness, allow to suggest that this could have been a confusion, from the presence of some workman, fireman or policeman with a particular equipment.
