Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems have been reported, I do not know how, that in Bardney, Lincolnshire, England, in mid June 1977 in the afternoon, a group of boys of a boarding school entered the village when they saw, or said to have seen, on other side of a hedge, approximately 150 away meters from them, a "stick man", jolting about. It was black, with a round "featureless" head, there was no noise and it was "quite hard to see."

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Bardney, Lincolnshire, England, on mid June 1977, in the afternoon, a group of boys at a boarding school were going into Bardney when they saw, on the other side of a hedge about 150 metes away, a "stick man," jolting along. It was black, with a round featureless head; there was no noise and it was quite hard to see.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Peter Rogerson, and Humcat 1977-31.

Points to consider:

A meager report with no UFO, no mention of aliens, a "hard to see" "stick man", no clear date, no clear origin of the story (Peter Rogerson is nowadays a ufologist who in convinced that all UFO reports are errors or hoaxes), a group of unnamed boys as alleged witnesses, no trace of any investigation, all this hardly makes a good case.

An information is that the "stick man" was 150 meters away, and "hard to see". This is a very, very large distance for untrained young observers to see anything like a man or a "stick man" correctly. It is thus not surprising that the "stick man" has a round featureless head. Very likely, the boys distinguished "something", imaginations run wild, and someone must have picked up the story as if it was some valid sighting to associate to the theme of UFOs and UFO occupants.
