Ufology group CEAFI reported in a several pages articles in their June-July 1978 bulletin about a case of January 4, 1977, at 00:30, in Carapito, Guarda, Beira Alta, in Portugal.
C.A.C.M., a technician in an auto plant, was training his German shepherd dog in an area of pine trees, when the animal behaved oddly, remaining close to him.
The witness then noticed an object, hovering some 10 meters of him and some 10 meters above the ground. It was metallic, dark, ellipsoid shaped, with a dark dome-like protuberance. Its diameter was of approximately 6 to 7 meters. It made a noise similar to "radio static", or a "bip bip" tone.
The witness saw a humanoid silhouette standing close to this object. The figure stood around 1.80 or 2 meters tall.
The object suddenly emitted a silvery lighting flash and disappeared, and so did the bulky figure.
The witness suffered from severe headaches soon after the incident, and his dog died with no obvious cause of death 8 months later.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Carapito Beira Alta, Portugal, on January 4, 1977, at 00:30 a.m., a man was training his German shepherd dog inside a pine grove when the animal suddenly became agitated and sat next to him. He then saw hovering 10 meters from the ground a dark metallic domed object that was emitting a beeping sound. Near the object the witness saw a very tall heavyset figure, human like. The object suddenly emitted a silvery lighting like flash and disappeared, so did the bulky figure. The witness suffered from severe headaches soon after the incident and his dog died for no apparent reason in August of the same year.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Ballester Olmos, Fernandez Peri, Enciclopedia De Los Encuentros Cercanos con Ovnis.

Donald Johnson indicates that on January 4, 1977, at 12:30 a.m., a man was training his German shepherd dog in a pine grove in Carapito Beira Alta, Portugal when the animal suddenly became agitated and sat next to him. He then saw hovering 10 meters from the ground a dark metallic domed object that was emitting a beeping sound. Near the object was a very tall, heavy set figure, human like. The object suddenly emitted a silvery lighting flash and disappeared, and so did the bulky figure. The witness suffered from severe headaches soon after the incident, and his dog died with no obvious cause of death in August of the same year.

[Ref. sc1:] SCOTT CORRALES:
Scott Corrales indicates that he came across an hitherto unpublished article by IHU co-founder and Mexico correspondent Dr. Rafael Lara Palmeros, written in the end of the 90s. One of the case in the article is of Tuesday, January 4, 1977, at 00:30, in Carapito, Guarda, Beira Alta.
C.A.C.M., a technician in an auto plant, was training his German shepherd dog in a copse of pine trees, when the animal behaved suspiciously, and remained close to him.
It was then that the witness noticed a hovering object some 10 meters of him and some 10 meters above the ground; it was a metallic, dark, ellipsoid shaped object with a dark dome-like protuberance, a diameter of approximately 6 to 7 meters. It made a noise similar to "radio static".
The witness then perceived a humanoid shape standing close to this object. It stood around 1.80 or 2 meters "and was physically to another, suddenly ending at a pine grove almost bordering the small rural home."
At the foot of the hill upon which the witnesses had first seen the creature, researchers found a small radioactive area, with measurements of 20 to 30 rads, but it should be noted that uranium deposits exist in the region. They also saw a circular zone, 2.6 meters in diameter in a sparsely forested region used as a pasture, not far from the pine trees. The earth within this circular zone had been compressed, grass would not grow and horses avoided it.
[The article seem to mention as second case [possibly the one a day before in the same area as it says:] "Elisabete experienced a nervous shock, which may have been the cause of a subsequent heart condition" and "the cases were not reported until both had been collected, thus apparently avoiding the possibility of any 'contagion'."
The source is indicated as CEAFI, Insolito, IV, 33, June-July 1978, pp 14-17 and 26.
It seems obvious that there were several pages of investigation report in the CEAFI bulletin, which is unfortunately not available to me for now. The case is nevertheless of high strangeness, with a single witness however.
This other case should be looked at also.
