The ufology magazine Ouranos reported in 1978 that on September 12, 1976, at 06:00 a.m., Julien Hermann had taken his duty at the Merlin-Gérin factory of Meylan in the Isère, France a place relatively isolated from the close countryside. The witness reported that a few moments later, he was at his office, and when he looked to his left, he perfectly saw through the window bay a human form of a normal size and of a green fluorescent color surrounded by a multitude of small green lights scintillating on its profile.
This human form was within 20 meters of the place where the witness stood, and he clearly distinguished its legs as well as its arms which were along the body, but could not see its face, nor its head or its shoulders, but it seemed to him to see like a motorcyclist or astronaut helmet who formed a halo towards the head.
This human form was stood motionless in the center of a visible luminous circle on the ground, of a diameter of 2 meters approximately, of a color that the witness said never not to have seen before and that resembled an orange yellow. He could not judge if the feet of this human form touched the ground or not, and he was also unable to judge whether he was looking at the front or the back of the form.
The witness felt a cold sweat and his radio set which was turned on started to crackle. He then rushed outside, circumvented the angle of the building, saw again the green human form still motionless at the same place. The form disappeared on the spot suddenly like a lamp that had been turned off.
That observation had lasted between five to seven minutes. The magazine indicates that the chief of the Service of Inspection of "Sécurité Industrielle Rhône-Alpes" ("Industrial Safety the Rhone-Alps") was adamant that the witness is a serious and honest person.

[Ref. ou1:] "OURANOS" MAGAZINE:
The magazine reports that on September 12, 1976, at 06:00 a.m., Julien Hermann took his service at the Merlin-Gérin factory in Meylan in the department of Isère, a place that was relatively isolated from the close countryside. The witness stated:
"A few moments later, I was in my guard's office. While turning my head to my left side, I perfectly saw, through the window bay of my office, a human form of a size ranging between 1,65 and 1,75 m and of a green fluorescent color surrounded by a multitude of small scintillating green lights on his profile. This human form was at some 20 meters from the place where I was. I clearly distinguished his legs and his arms which were along the body. On the other hand, I could not see the face, nor even the head and shoulders, but it seemed to me to see in the night like a motorcyclist or astronaut helmet that formed a halo towards the head. This human form stood motionless at the center of a visible luminous circle on the ground. This circle was of a color which I had never seen before and that resembled an orange yellow, of a diameter of 2 meters approximately. I could not tell whether the feet of this human form were in contact with the ground or not. In the same way, it seemed impossible to me to tell if the human form faced me or presented its back to me. I felt a cold sweat and my radio set that was on started to crackle and to emit static noises. I then rushed outside, by circumventing the angle of the building. I again saw the motionless green human form at the same place. Suddenly, it disappeared on the spot suddenly, like a lamp that would have been turned off."
That observation had lasted between five to seven minutes. The magazine indicates that the chief of the Service of Inspection of "Sécurité Industrielle Rhône-Alpes" ("Industrial Safety the Rhone-Alps") was adamant that the witness is a serious and honest person.
Ufologist and draughtsman Jean-Michel Ligeron had composed the following illustration for this case:
The case is one high strangeness; I do not see what real ordinary cause could appear as this luminescent humanoid form. It does not seem that the witness could be in a sleepy state: He had just taken his guard duty. No unidentified flying machine or extraterrestrial aircraft was seen posed there apparently, and that could cause comments aiming at rejecting the observation report as unrelated to UFO topics. But I have in mind a recent discussion with a person claiming skepticism who expressed astonishment at the notion that the "extraterrestrials should necessarily move about in UFOs." What happens here? If this witness report is veracious, what could this luminescent humanoid form who disappears on the spot be? It can hardly be a misinterpreted helicopter pilot. A ghost, an ectoplasm, an extraterrestrial visitor who would have its landed spacecraft on some other side of the buildings, or who has been teleported as in science-fiction TV series of the Star Trek kind?
Surely some would appeal to some "hallucination" as the explanation, but on what grounds? How can an "hallucination" be also definitely localized seen from the office initially, at a distance of 20 meters largely within the limits of human stereoscopic vision, with a localization spot on the ground, and still seen once the guard who witnessed this left the office building and arrived on the spot by the outside? What about the statics on the radio? How to reconcile such a strange hallucination with the definitely clear and factual tone of the witness account, deprived of personal interpretations and traces of fantasy?
As a ufologist, the problem I have here is rather the too usual and terribly regrettable absence of an available formal investigation report, the absence of corroboration by some clear physical evidence without commonplace explanation, the fact that there is a single witness. We have what seems to have been a good opportunity to have methodically explored these very out of the ordinary events and their circumstances, to circle this with great care, and perhaps that was done to a certain extent, but nothing remains of all the case beyond the witness account and the mention of an employer who warranted that the witness is a serious person. All this seems to leave only two rational alternatives: either all this was purely invented, or it may be well that an extraterrestrial visit was witnessed.

Possible extraterrestrial visitors, lack of corroboration, no available investigation report.
