A UFO magazine reported in the beginning of the Nineties, it seems, that in 1975 a local group of ufologists that one of them judges rather negatively, were confronted with a case of a disc-shaped UFO whose witnesses said landed close to Highdown Hill.
The four witnesses were close enough of the UFO to see a figure emerge, whom they described only as gray, rather small and with a lemon-shaped head.
While one of the witnesses approached the being, a beam of light struck and he fell to the ground in great pain. He quickly recovered and the four quickly left the place.
They returned to the site the next day morning, and, they claimed, found a glowing powder on the ground. They took no sample, and a search thereafter did not find any evidence of their experience.
The case is said to have been reported in the press and various other publications but one of the ufologists of the group indicates that nobody took it really seriously.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Highdown Hill, Sussex, England, on July 12, 1975, at an unknown time, four witnesses walking up a footpath on the hill saw a disc shaped craft land nearby.
A gray figure with a large lemon shaped head then appeared. As the witnesses approached the figure, a red shiny beam of light hit one of them, he screamed in pain and fell to the ground. He recovered quickly then all the witnesses fled the area. Some glowing powder is said to have been found on the ground.

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:
Donald Johnson indicates that on July 12, 1975, four witnesses were walking up a footpath on Highdown Hill in Sussex, England when they saw a disc-shaped craft land nearby. A gray figure with a large lemon-shaped head then appeared. When the witnesses tried to approach the figure a shiny red beam of light hit one of them, and the man who had been struck screamed in pain and fell to the ground. He recovered quickly, and then all four of the witnesses fled the scene. Some glowing powder was allegedly found on the ground in the area later.
Donald Johnson indicates that the source is Albert S. Rosales, 1975 Humanoid Contact database, case # 768, citing Norman Oliver, Quest UFO Magazine (UK), Volume 11, #6.
[Ref. ch1:] "CHARLES":
6/25/2007 Highdown Hill, Sussex In 1975 I was involved with a local UFO investigation group, probably one of the worse decisions I ever made at that time bearing in mind those involved. However one of the cases we became involved in was the sighting of a disc shaped UFO which the witnesses claimed landed near Highdown. They were close enough to the craft to see a figure emerge, which they described as gray and not very tall with a 'lemon' shaped head. As one of the witnesses approached this being a beam of light hit the witness who fell to the group in terrible pain. It did not take long for him to recover from this and he and three other witnesses left the location very quickly. When they returned to the site the following morning they claimed to have found a glowing powder on the ground. They did not think of taking a sample apparently and a subsequent search failed to find any evidence of their experience. The case was reported both in the press and various other publications but no one really took the report that seriously. Charles http://www.ufoinfo.com/humanoid/humanoid1975.shtml |
Note: "Charles" may be Charles Walker, who had a long interest in the alleged mysteries in that area, often referred to as Clapham Woods.
The case is apparently a case of high strangeness. On the other end, there is little evidence of credibility, and apparently no investigation data available.
