At the time of the brief rash of UFO reports of 1975 in the USA, Leonard Stringfield learned that on September 29 that year, S.R. was returning home after having sold candies for the benefit of his school, when he suddenly saw an object in the shape of a beer can approximately 8 meters above him.
It had a white light on the top and red swiveling lights at its base. The object did not make any noise and was motionless above him during 20 seconds before going away in the sky.
S.R. was frightened and returned home, told what he had seen to his parents who did not believe him. He called the police, and they gave him Leonard Stringfield's phone number.
The next day, S.R. had left a letter on the kitchen table explaining that he was very afraid and has to flee because the UFOS are after him. He ends the letter with affectionate words and a promise to call when he is in safety.
S.R.'s father, who had been in connection with the police, discovered that his son withdrew 500$ at the bank and disappeared, which behavior puzzled him.
The boy was found the next day by the police force of the safety of the Atlanta airport, he was brought back home and put to rest. He requested to phone Leonard Stringfield, who noted that the boy was still afraid, that he told incoherent things and admitted that thinking about the UFO made him tremble with fear.
Stringfield spoke several times with S.R and would learn from him that in October 1974, he had saw a UFO with port-holes in the yard of his college at the level of the trees, which had deeply frightened him.
In the night of that same day, the boy, in a dream or perhaps in a state of trance, had seen a being who was not human, had an oval head, almond eyes, a wrinkled skin, a slit as mouth and no nose. This creature had made him understand by telepathy that he was going to abduct him and that he should not be afraid.

S.R.'s father, who had been in connection with the police, discovered that his son withdrew 500$ at the bank and disappeared, which behavior puzzled him.
The boy was found the next day by the police force of the safety of the Atlanta airport, he was brought back home and put to rest. He requested to phone Leonard Stringield, who noted that the boy was still afraid, that he told incoherent things and admitted that thinking about the UFO made him tremble with fear.
While the two UFO sightings, as reported by the boy as unique witness, and if not invented, are of rather high strangeness, the entity was seen in a vivid dream after the first sighting. It is only obvious that an impressive sighting of a UFO is a premium material for an episode of hypnagogic hallucination, in which the dreamed entity matches all the usual "standards" of the popular image of how an alien is supposed to look like. Typically in such episodes, the dreamed entity not being real also does not talk, and its "message" is then interpreted as being telepathically communicated.
Obviously, by disbelieving the whole or by believing too much, neither the parents nor the police nor ufologists, have taken care of telling the boy that the UFO sightings are one thing, whatever it was, and the entity he thought to have seen in his bedroom while sleeping is another thing. The whole has thus created a very frightening situation for the kid.
