A newspaper of Utah reported in 1997 on events of the Fall of 1972 behind the rural house of the Gines, close to the Provo river, Summit county, Utah, the USA.
At about 04:30 a.m. in a dark moonless night, the father, Lennis Gines, saw blue and yellow lights, silent, in rotation, in the field behind the house, and initially did not think much of it, except that it was a little early for teenager visitors.
He noticed all the same that the lights were not at all close to the narrow countryside lane close to the house, and estimated that it was an UFO when these lights rose up without noise.
Lennis Gines was soon joined by his son Sam, aged 16, who was ready to gather the cows for milking, and they observed together during 45 minutes in the darkness these blue and yellow lights which were at approximately 150 meters in the East, and described them as going through the bottom of the river.
Eventually Sam Gines decided that he had waited long enough. The family dogs, normally obedient, had run inside to hide, and it was without them that the boy climbed in the truck and approached.
He told his father that he could see a door, windows and shadowy figures going in and out.
The nervous cows were bunched together, and it had not been easy to make them go back to the corral without the dogs' help. It was noted that their milk production was not as usual.

[Ref. ze1:] ZACK VAN EYCK:
This journalist reported:
At first Lennis Gines didn't think much of the blue and yellow lights in the field behind her rural Summit County (Utah) home. It was a little too early- about 4:30 a.m. - for teenage visitors. And the silent, rotating lights weren't anywhere near the narrow country lane that meandered past the family's two story home and on to the Provo River. At that instant, on a pitch-black moonless morn in the fall of 1972, Lennis Gines knew what it was like to see a UFO. "If it hadn't gone up without a sound, I may have convinced myself in my mind that it was just kids driving around. But I know what I saw." Gines was soon joined by her teenage son Sam, who was ready to round up the cows for milking. Together they waited and watched in the dark for 45 minutes as the blue and yellow lights, some 150 yards to the east, cascaded across the river bottoms. Eventually Gines's 16-year-old decided he'd waited long enough... Sam got no help from the family's otherwise loyal cattle dog, who whimpered and ran inside to hide. "My boy gets in the truck and goes over, and he said he could see a doorway, windows and shadows going in and out," Gines recalled this week, nearly 25 years after the event. "It was like someone was going in and out on the ground." "The cows were bunched together", he said, and he had a hard time getting them out without the dog, but they did come down the road and into the corral. "The cows were nervous and didn't give the milk they usually gave." Gines, still frightened, helped her younger son, Will, get dressed, then hustled to the barn to bring Sam back to the house. But when she emerged from the barn - the lights were gone - all except the distant glimmer of daylight [sic]. |

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Summit County, Utah, on Fall 1972, at 04:30 a.m., rancher Lennis Gines and his 16-year old son noticed blue and yellow lights in the fields behind their rural home. The lights were silent and rotated. The family's dog whimpered and ran inside to hide. The 16-year old son then drove his truck near the lights and was able to see an object with a doorway, windows, and shadowy figures going in and out. Nearby several nervous cows huddled together. Their milk production declined after the incident.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Zack Van Eyck.
Here is a case that could be confronted with many weird occurrence also in Utah such as those at the "Gorman Ranch" described in the 2005 book "Hunt For the Skinwalker" by Colm A. Kelleher Ph.D. and George Knapp, Paraview Pocket Books, USA.
Unfortunately, the late-reported case seems to exist only as a newspaperman's report in journalistic style, lacking the formalism of a ufological in-depth investigation. In this report, the strangeness of the case seems quite weak and the possibility of some confusion in the dark cannot be excluded.
