MID-MARCH 1971, ITAPOA, SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL, TWO YOUNG WOMAN:
Brief summary of the event and follow-up:
Brazilian ufologist Irene Granchi reported in 1995 that in Itapoa, near San Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, on mid March 1971, at night, two young women were standing on the beach, when they saw a red sphere of light rise up from the sea, in front of the beach area.
The sphere turned and emitted green flashes, then approached the witnesses.
They saw a small metallic antenna on the sphere, and one human-looking "extraterrestrial" being came to meet the two young women on the beach. Apparently, the witnesses spoke to the alien about three underwater UFO bases and told a "poetic" and "astonishing" story.
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Itapoa, San Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, on Mid March 1971, at night, while standing on the beach, two female witnesses see one red sphere of light rise up from the sea, in front of the beach area. One human-like "extraterrestrial" comes to meet the two girls on the beach. The witnesses speak to the alien about 3 underwater UFO bases and tell a "poetic" and "astonishing" story.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Irene Granchi, "UFOs and Abduction in Brazil" p. 121.
Points to consider:
The available information is insufficient to differentiate a hoax, a prank, a confusion, an extraterrestrial visit.
