Argentinean newspapers reported that on July 2, 1968, in the Cofico neighborhood of Salta, Salta Province, Argentina, at 08:15 p.m. in the neighborhoods of the Sporting Club, several people saw a strange phenomenon. Among them, Corina Robles stated that while going outside in her garden, she noticed a large saucer in the sky which irradiated an intense light downwards, so she entered her house to inform her mother and, while going outside again, at the same place, she saw a character similar to a robot of a height of 3 meters.
This being was like suspended in mid-air, she claimed, and it then left while moving slowly, like flying, until being lost behind the hills.
The character was also observed by Francisco Emilio Sola, aged 14, in the same area. He had seen the evolutions of the UFO in the surroundings of the hill, and the 2.50 meters tall luminous being hovering in the air a few meters close to him. He saw that the being started to spin and went away beyond the top of the hill.
Other families of neighbors and the host of the Sporting Club confirmed the occurrence. A young girl, Silvia Rosa Olmos confirmed the testimonies and added that she saw something similar at 05:00 p.m. in another hill, with two masons who worked at her house. And the same night before 08:00 p.m., three policemen had stated to have seen a UFO evolving above the Portezuelo District.

In his catalogue of UFO landings, Jacques Vallée indicates that on July 2, 1968, at 08:15 a.m., in Cofico, Argentina. A boy, Sola, saw, a few meters away, a strange being, about 2.10 meters tall, hovering in the air, his body emitting a peculiar glow, near a bright, unknown object.
Vallée indicates that his source is "FSR 68, 5."

The author indicates that on September 2, 1968 in Cofico in Argentina, around 02:15 p.m., a 10 year old child, Sola T., saw a strange being measuring 2.10 meters who hovered in the air, his body emitting a curious gleam. The being evolved near an unknown machine posed on the ground.

Donald Johnson indicates that the source is David F. Webb and Ted Bloecher, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case 1968-40, citing FSR, Vol. 14, No. 5.
A high strangeness case with multiple and named witnesses, some obviously independent, saw the UFO, and three of them at least saw the hovering luminous entity and the UFO. Unfortunately the case does not seem to have been thoroughly documented or investigated, being distorted and reduced to an even younger one-witness simple event by foreign ufologists.
